Hiya everyone! Just before I get into this post, I thought I’d mention that I recently started a Youtube channel! I upload every Sunday (and maybe have some surprise videos as and when) so chances are, you’ve missed a cheeky upload! Please go and subscribe and show me love because it’s scary business!
A couple months ago I went to Not Dogs, in Birmingham. This restaurant is located on Link Street which is the street that connects Bull Ring and New Street station. It’s a proper fancy street which is indoors and full of random quirky shops.
Not Dogs is a hot dog restaurant which is 100% vegetarian and everything (as much as I know) can be made vegan. What isn’t more great?! I’m pretty sure the vegetarian hot dogs are using Quorn and the vegan ones are using seitan. I’ve never had seitan before, as far as I’m concerned so I was intrigued to try it.
Their website says:
“It’s simple, we love animals, the environment and you! Not Dogs was created to offer a better fast-food menu for all three, happy animals, happy health and happy planet.”
I had the Original Frank hot dog. This hot dog was an eight inch seitan sausage, with Heinz ketchup, French’s mustard, homemade caramelised beer-fried onions. Honestly how delish does that sound?! We also had waffle fries on the side and a peppermint patty milkshake. Now when I saw they sold milkshakes, I was sold instantly. I adore milkshakes so I HAD to. And when the man at the counter asked if I wanted vegan whipped cream, I fucking cried.
Okay I didn’t but I haven’t had whipped cream since going vegan so I was close to tears.
I tried to take a picture of the inside of the hot dog because I was like FUCKING DAMN, IT TASTES LIKE A REAL HOT DOG. But answer me this, doesn’t it look like one?!
Let me know if you’ve tried the hot dogs, or anything from here.
