Cruelty Free Makeup

Whether you use make up daily or it’s a rare occasion, it’s helpful to know which brands are cruelty free or not. I don’t blame someone if they happen to accidentally purchase cruelty make up but when you actively purchase it, knowing the damage you are doing, it upsets me. SOOOO I’m going to write a blog post addressing the top cruelty free brands that I use frequently that are so so common. You’ll find em everywhere, trust me!

1. Barry M.
This brand is very against animal testing. They actively state that they have never had their products or ingredients tested on animals since their foundation in 1982 which is so so great! They’ve also pledged that their products will not be sold in countries that require testing. ALSO, most of the makeup is vegetarian and plenty are vegan (the make up that is vegan is clearly labelled).

2. E.L.F
I’m unsure if I’m the only one, but I was always heavily aware that this brand was cruelty free and vegan. I just think this was an already known thing for me haha? The makeup is super cheap as well, and I’ve heard it’s pretty decent. Once this brand comes to superdrug I’ll be getting my fair share of their makeup!

I’ve seen this brand a lot in the high street lately. My local shopping centre has a massive KIKO store and a stand within another store. It’s surreal. They have an entire page on their website dedicated to their no animal testing policy which is interesting. (click on their name to find it!) As far as I am aware, all of their nail polishes and some of their eye shadows are vegan. Just double check as I’m not 100% perfect with spotting chemicals.

4. LUSH.
Obviously. Their entire branding is cruelty free. All of their products are fully vegetarian, and probably 90% of them are vegan too! All natural. What’s not to love? I guess this one is a given.

5. Superdrug.
Superdrug is very much against animal testing and they go as far to state that they welcome a ban. All their own brand goods are cruelty free and suitable for vegans too. It’s fairly cheap!

If I’ve made any mistakes, please let me know! I’m not perfect with knowing what’s vegan and what’s not in terms of make up brands as of yet. I’m getting there hahaha.

  1. Love this! I’ve just recently been making the switch to cruelty-free products, and I’ve found some great brands. I love Barry M, e.l.f, and Lush – and I worked for Superdrug for a year so I constantly bought their own brand tea tree range which was gorgeous.
I can’t wait to find more brands to use.

      1. I’ve also downloaded an app called Think Dirty where you can look further into products and see how good the ingredients are for your skin/body and how β€œclean” the product is. It’s so interesting researching new products

  2. Young Living Savvy Minerals is cruelty free and mostly vegan free-the lipstick and lipgloss have beeswax in it. This is the best makeup I have ever tried! If you’d like, I can send you some more information about it πŸ™‚
