The Eighth Day / Manchester

Hiya! I did another one of these posts back in October and it was based in Birmingham. For today’s I thought I’d write about a place I ate at recently in Manchester!

The Eighth Day is by the university area of Manchester. It’s kinda bad for my bank balance but wonderful for my tummy. Not only is it a restaurant, it’s also a store that sells everything a vegan would want. Can you see what I mean when I say it’s not so good for my bank account hahaha?

To be fair, it isn’t too expensive. I bought a cake for £1.12 (don’t ask me why they have weird prices) when back home in Birmingham, you’d easily pay around £3 for a cake.

This is what I ate. I had a mushroom and carrot quinoa salad, seasoned baby potatoes with a red lentil sauce. It was so yummy and so filling. I think it cost around £4.50-£5.00 so it wasn’t too pricey. Wonderful if you’re on a budget.

My dad was with me for this meal and he had a fairly large pitta bread sandwich which had a bean pate with a bunch of salad. I think he paid around £3 for it and he said it more than filled him up! He actually had a little bit of it leftover and he took it home to eat hahaha!

I love this place. I think I’ll give it a 4/5 simply because I haven’t tried the whole of the menu and I don’t think it would be fair to say 5/5 without trying things. I also don’t give it full marks because the menu is a bit unclear and maybe that’s just me, but I had no clue what was going on hahahhaa.

      1. Literally! It makes me laugh because all my friends are like “oh you go away so often; how do you afford it” but its like – you spend just as much going out in london because it’s so damn expensive ;-; xx
