How to Improve Self Love

Self love. A thing people need and want, but something that is extremely difficult to get. Some people think self love has negative connotations which is strange. Why is it looked down upon if you love yourself? Surely, if you love yourself, it is a good thing?? Many people also think self love revolves around vanity and arrogance which IS NOT THE CASE!! Sure, you can be arrogant and love yourself, but self love doesn’t always equal arrogance. (If that makes sense?)

The relationship we have with ourselves is the most important relationship we can ever have. Forget boyfriends and girlfriends, the relationship we have inside is more important! Everything we do is based on this relationship – the way we dress, the way we handle stress and the way we treat others.
Today, I have five tips for you to improve your level of self love. I’m not saying if you follow these tips you’ll be in love with yourself and any form of hatred you have will disappear, because that’s not the case. Self love is a constant work in progress. It’s a journey not a destination. LOL

#1 – Don’t take life too seriously.
Don’t be so hard on yourself. Take life with a pinch of salt, if that’s the correct expression. If something doesn’t work the first time around, be patient and calm. Always keep in mind that good things take time, whether it takes a week or a month or a year IT WILL TAKE TIME. Don’t overthink everything to the smallest detail – a difficult one I know but it will help.

#2 – Decide that today is going to be a good day.
Honestly if you tell yourself today is going to be a good day, it will be. If you tell yourself today is going to be a bad day, it will be. It all depends on your perspective. Before you get out of bed, you have to decide that today is going to be a good day. Fake it til u make it!

#3 – Listen to your body.
If you want carbs, give yo body carbs!! Carbs are very good for you, fuck what society says. The food you eat and the things you do decide on how good you feel. You will feel so much better and happier if you listen to yourself. Find out which diet and sports work best for you. I chose the vegan diet and it makes me so happy!

#4 – Stop doubting yourself.
Whatever you are doing with your life, stop doubting it. Easier said than done I know but just try. Stop doubting your dreams, your ideas or just your existence. Have faith in yourself. If you never try, it’s impossible to know what going to happen. What if what you were planning was the BEST possible thing and you didn’t attempt it because you were scared of the results? Write down the worst possible scenario and decide if you could handle it. If you think you can, what’s stopping you from trying?

#5 – Remember things take time.
The thing you want to do probably isn’t going to happen over night. If it does, well done! But just know, it may not. Don’t feel bad if it doesn’t work first time or if it takes a while to do so.
